If you are ready to begin your journey to eternal life, you need to answer these questions.

by James Herschel Lyda

1. WHAT IS MAN? Gen. 1:26-28, Gen. 2:7-9

Man is an image of God, made of dust with only the breath of life placed in him. Man is a soul, either living or dead.; Ezek. 18:4 and 20.;NEW! (MINI SERMON)

2. WHAT ARE MAN'S DUTIES? Eccles. 12:13.

Man has to choose which he wants, life or death. He is free to make a choice because God gave him a choice from the beginning .... the Tree of Life or the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, which also meant death. If man chooses God he must then obey every commandment and strive to be perfect.

All men must die because we inherited death from Adam. When Adam disobeyed God and ate of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, the punishment was death. Adam became evil after he sinned. How can anything evil bring forth good? Romans 6:23.; NEW! (MINI SERMON)

6. WHY DID CHRIST HAVE TO DIE? Heb. 9:22; 1 Cor. 15:21-22

This death would have been eternal if God had not given us another chance. He sent his only son (part of God to make him perfect, part of man to make him mortal) to adopt us into his family (a perfect family). Someone has to pay the price of death. Christ, who had not sinned, volunteered to pay the price for us if we would let him. All down through the years people had to offer burnt offerings to show that they accepted Christ in the future.
