WHY MUST WE ALL DIE?
by James Herschel Lyda
When God created man and placed him on this earth, he broke one of Godís laws for which the penalty was death. Because of this death penalty all of his descendents were also condemned to die. This placed the curse of death upon all mankind.
Just as we inherit all our traits through the genes of our fathers and mothers, we inherited death from the father and mother of all mankind. We would have been condemned to death for eternity except God saw fit to give mankind another chance by sending his only begotten (born) son into this world to die in our place, to pay the penalty of death for us. Because of this sacrifice, we can live forever only if we believe that Jesus is the son of God and if we keep his precepts.
