• 1 Corinthians 15: 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

• 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

When God created man and placed him on this earth, he broke one of God’s laws for which the penalty was death. Because of this death penalty all of his descendents were also condemned to die. This placed the curse of death upon all mankind.

• Genesis 2: 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

• 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

• Genesis 3: 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

• Hebrews 9: 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Just as we inherit all our traits through the genes of our fathers and mothers, we inherited death from the father and mother of all mankind. We would have been condemned to death for eternity except God saw fit to give mankind another chance by sending his only begotten (born) son into this world to die in our place, to pay the penalty of death for us. Because of this sacrifice, we can live forever only if we believe that Jesus is the son of God and if we keep his precepts.
