SEVENTY WEEKS

% 1^st Lesson

Israel, God’s chosen people, rebelled against God’s Commandments and served false gods CONTINUALLY, the same as America is doing today. So God sent Israel into captivity as punishment for all their sins. Think about it. If God chastised and punished His chosen people, what about us? Now Israel’s captivities began with the Assyrian Captivity in approximately 740 BC. The Assyrians captured the northern ten tribes known as the “House of Israel”. The same 10 tribes that were exiled (meaning to order somebody to leave and stay away from his or her own country or home) by Assyria. They later became known as the “Ten Lost Tribes” and are still lost, physically, until this very day somewhere in the world and they have never returned home.

II Kings 18:11-12 And the king of Assyria did carry away Israel unto Assyria and put them in Ha’lah and in Habor by the river of Go’zan, and in the cities of the Medes: because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD their God, but transgressed his covenant, and all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded (the ten commandments) and would not hear them, nor do them. God’s covenant to Abraham and all of Israel
Genesis 12: ² “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
³ I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

The remainder of the children of Israel called the “House of Judah” remained in their country until the Babylonian Captivity (or Babylonian exile). It is the period in Jewish history during which a number of Jews of the ancient House of Judah were captives in Babylonia, after the Battle of Carchemish in 605 BC.

In 589 BC, Nebuchadnezzar II laid siege to Jerusalem, culminating in the destruction of the city and its temple in 587 BC; this was the 1^st Temple ever built, we are not talking about the tent they carried in the wilderness but Solomon’s temple. Nebuchadnezzar besieged the country a number of times which resulted in three deportations of the Jews. These deportations are dated to 597 BC, 587 BC, and 582 BC, respectively. Nebuchadnezzar II was the greatest enemy to the Children of Israel until Hitler.

The vision of Daniel 9 is given by the angel Gabriel and is set in the first year of king Darius son of Xerxes about 522 BC, a Mede of the Medes and Persians by descent, who had been appointed king over Babylon. The Book of Daniel is set during the period of the Babylonian exile. (586–538BC)

Here is part of the vision as reported in Daniel 9:23 – 27 by the angel Gabriel.

Daniel 9: 22 And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.

23 At the beginning of thy supplications(prayers) the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.

So Listen: understand the matter, and consider the vision

24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, ⁽¹⁾ to finish the transgression, (meaning a crime or any act that violates a law, command, or moral code) (to finish the transgression of God’s Law) and ⁽²⁾ to make an end of sins, and ⁽³⁾ to make reconciliation (the renewing of a friendly relationshipbetween man and God because of our sins) for iniquity (or immorality or sin), ((Right here divides the prophesy)) and ⁽⁴⁾ to bring in everlasting righteousness, and ⁽⁵⁾ to seal up the vision and prophecy, and ⁽⁶⁾ to anoint the most Holy.

Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

The prophecy is usually referred to as "The 70 Weeks of Years." This name derives from the opening words of most English translations: "Seventy weeks have been decreed". In the Hebrew, the word translated "weeks" is actually the word "sevens." So, the text actually says, "Seventy sevens have been decreed..."

Just as the English word "dozen" can refer to a dozen of anything, the Hebrew word shavu’im, meaning "sevens," can refer to seven of anything. Its exact meaning is dependent upon the context. In this key passage from Daniel, the context makes it clear that he is speaking of years — seventy sevens of years, which would be a total of 490 years. It is therefore appropriate to refer to the prophecy as "The 70 Weeks of Years" even though those exact words are not found in the passage itself.

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people, that is, David’s people or the people of God, the Children of Israel. This does not count any time that passes when God is not dealing with the Israelites. The time after Seventy weeks of years or 70 X 7 = 490 years are determined from the going forth of the enactment of the commandment, which commandment? The one TO RESTORE AND TO REBUILD the whole city of JERUSALEM and until the most Holy is anointed as king over the whole earth. These prophesy that all these things will take place in seventy weeks of years. That is 490 years but we know the last part of this prophesy was never completed, yet. The first part was completed shortly after Christ died on the cross, if we will only accept Him as our sin offering, our transgressions are forgiven and forgotten. He has made the reconciliation for our sins by being our eternal sacrifice for our sins that is make reconciliation for iniquity. (Christ ended the dispute between us, the sinners, and God, the ever righteous) Christ opened the door for us, the sinners who could not even look upon a Holy God, to come to him and seek forgiveness.

To finish the transgression,(any act that violates the law of God) to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity is the first part of this prophesy. When Christ died on the cross and he made a way for all these condemnations to be forgiven and end if we only place all our faith in Him. He made a way for the reconciliation of all of mankind’s sins if we will only trust, obey Him and be baptized. But we cannot live however we please and not follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Isa.44: 24 Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself;

28 That saith of Cyrus (King of Persia), He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.

Isa. 45:1 ¶ Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;

Isa. 45:4 For Jacob my servant’s sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.

5 ¶ I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

Here is something that only Jehovah the one and only God can bring to pass. Isaiah prophesied this prophesies in about 742 BC and Cyrus was born between 590 and 580 BC which was about 150 years before the birth of Cyrus. Another unusual event was that Cyrus never worshiped Jehovah, but worshiped Nimrod under the god name of Marduk. This is all a historical fact.

The beginning of the Second Temple period (586 BC through 70 AD) is marked by the return of Jews to Jerusalem from their exile in Babylon in 538 BC. They were allowed to return under an edict issued by Cyrus II King of Persia. By 515 BC the reinstated Jewish residents had completed building the Second Temple which was destroyed again by Rome in 70 AD.

According to the book of Ezra, the Persian, Cyrus the Great ended the exile of the House of Judah, called the Babylonian Exile in 538 BC the year in which Cyrus captured Babylon. Cyrus the Great ruled the largest empire, Medo-Persia, in the world until this day. The Babylonian Exile ended with the return under Zerubbabel the Prince (so-called because he was a descendant of the royal line of David) and Joshua the Priest (a descendant of the line of the former High Priests of the Temple) and their construction of the Second Temple in the period 521–516 BC.

The Bible states that Cyrus issued the decree of liberation to the Jews. Cyrus's edict for the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem marked a great epoch in the history of the Jewish people. According to Ezra 4:1-6 "the enemies of Judah and Benjamin" asked to help build the temple, and when this was denied, they hired counselors to frustrate the people of Judah from completing the rebuilding throughout the reign of Cyrus, Xerxes (Ahas-u-erus), and Arta-xer’-xes, until the reign of Darius. The work resumed under the exhortations of the prophets, and when the authorities asked the Jews what right they had to build a temple, they referred to the decree of Cyrus. Darius, who was then reigning, caused a search for this alleged decree to be made, and it was found in the archives at Ec-ba-tana, whereupon Darius reaffirmed the decree and the work proceeded to its triumphant close.

Zerubbabel led the first group of Jews, numbering 42,360, who returned from the Babylonian Captivity in the first year of Cyrus, King of Persia. The date is generally thought to have been between 538 BC and 520 BC.

In the Bible in Ezra 1:1 we find: ¶ Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

Now This is the first decree made according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which meant that it could not be broken.

1^st Decree

After the fall of Babylon to the Persian king Cyrus the Great in 538 BC, the exiled Jews began to return to the land of Judah. According to the biblical book of Ezra, construction of the second temple in Jerusalem began at this time. This decree was never finished and was entirely too early to fit the time line laid out by Gabriel to Daniel. But it is this Royal Decree that sets the stage for the countdown of the 490 years (that is seventy weeks of years). In order for the 490 year prophecy to be determined correctly, the correct starting point for the timeline is necessary.

Here are the four different royal decree's that are usually considered when trying to determine the correct starting point for Daniel's 70 weeks (490 years) prophecy.

· 1). the first was Cyrus’ decree (a decree of the Medes and Persians which could not be changed) in 538 BC (2 Chron. 36:22-23; Ezra 1:1-4; 5:13) (but it is too early)

· 2). the second was the decree of Darius I in 520 B.C. (Ezra 6:1, 6-12). This decree actually was a confirmation of the first decree which Darius had discovered in the archives. (also too early)

· 3). the third was the decree of Artaxerxes Longimanus in 457 B.C. (Ezra 7:11-26). (still too early)

The first two decrees pertain to the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem and the third relates to finances for animal sacrifices at the temple. These three pertain to the temple and its work but say nothing about the rebuilding of the city itself or its walls. Not one of these three decrees, then, was the decree that formed the beginning of the 70 sevens.

Now Nehemiah was the cupbearer to King Artaxerxes I of Persia at a time when Judah in Palestine had been partly repopulated by Jews released from their exile in Babylonia. The Temple at Jerusalem had been rebuilt, but the Jewish community there was dispirited and defenseless against its non-Jewish neighbours. Distressed at news of the desolate condition of Jerusalem, Nehemiah obtained permission from Artaxerxes to journey to Palestine to help rebuild its ruined structures.

Fulfillment:of the decree of the Persian king Cyrus the Great (it was a decree of the Medes and Persians which could not be changed) in 538 BC

The 4^th decree was also made by the king of Persia, Artaxerxes Longimanus (known as Long Hand), issued on March 5, 444 BC (Neh. 2:1-8). On that occasion Artaxerxes granted the Jews specific authorization TO REBUILD JERUSALEM’S CITY WALLS.

Neh. 2:1 ¶ And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence.

2 Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid,

3 And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?

4 Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.

5 And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers’ sepulchres, that I may build it.

6 And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.

7 Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah;

8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king’s forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me.

This decree seems to be the one referred to in Daniel 9:25.

Daniel 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment TO RESTORE AND TO BUILD JERUSALEM (not just the Temple but the City also) unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

7 + 60 + 2 = 69 weeks

Neh.4:13 Therefore set I in the lower places behind the wall, and on the higher places, I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows.

14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.

15 And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work.

16 ¶ And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah.

17 They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon.

From 444 BC, When the going forth of the commandment TO RESTORE AND TO BUILD JERUSALEM unto the Messiah the Prince that is until Jesus Christ and all His work to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity. This 69 weeks also included God stopping dealing directly with THY PEOPLE AND UPON THY HOLY CITY and to turn away from the Israelites (Thy people) to the Gentiles because of their rejection and crucifixion of Christ .

Acts 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles. (Peter baptized Cornelius and all his family and friends (the first Gentiles in 39 AD.))

So from 444 BC + 39AD = 483 years Divided by 7days in a week= 69 weeks of years, which is seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks or 69 weeks. That is about the time Peter saw the vision from God telling him to go to Cornelius, a Gentile, and baptize him and his household. (Acts 10) This was shortly after the Jews had crucified Christ on the cross in 32 or 33 AD. THIS PAUSED OR STOPPED THE TIME OF GOD DEALING ONLY WITH THE JEWS. This is why the time is divided into 69 weeks and 1 week. This has all been fulfilled but for one week of years, which is left to be fulfilled even unto this day.

The angel Gabriel spoke to Daniel and said, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, ⁽¹⁾ to finish the transgression, and ⁽²⁾ to make an end of sins, and ⁽³⁾to make reconciliation for iniquity, and ⁽⁴⁾ to bring in everlasting righteousness, and ⁽⁵⁾ to seal up the vision and prophecy, and ⁽⁶⁾ to anoint the most Holy.

This prophesy is given in six statements (the first three prophesies have already been fulfilled, which equals 69 of the 70 weeks. Christ finished these on the cross if we will accept His death, burial, and resurrection.) This covers a period of time from 444BC when the children of Israel rebuilt the city of Jerusalem’s walls, until 39BC when Peter baptized Cornelius, his household and neighbors who were Gentiles. This is the time that God turned to the Gentiles to take out a people for His name sake. This time equals 69 weeks of years or 483 years.

The last half of this prophesy, is, ⁽⁴⁾ To bring in everlasting righteousness ((which means) never-ending sinless followers of the One and Only Jehovah God) and ⁽⁵⁾ to seal up the vision and prophecy ((which means) to finish the prophesy completely) and ⁽⁶⁾anoint the most Holy (( that is) to ordain Jesus Christ as King of all the earth) this last half of the prophesy has not even begun yet. There is a space of about 2000 years between the 69 weeks and the 70^th week. There is yet one week of years or 7 years of the prophesy left to be completed. After the Seventieth Week is finished, Christ will come and set up a kingdom that will rule the whole world and teach the true, pure and undefiled Word of God to the left (that is the left alive) of the nations, and to finish the seventy weeks prophesy (Christ will be anointed the Prince, anointed the King and “the most Holy”, the Holiest of all people, (remember He is a human, for there is only one God) when Christ is crowned in the thousand year kingdom here upon this earth).

The time of this prophesy was halted at the time God turned to the Gentiles in 39AD. When God spoke to Peter in a vision and told him to baptize Cornelius (a Gentile) and his household. This was a sign that God had turned to the Gentiles to take out a people for His name sake. Not only Peter but Paul and Barnabas turned to the Gentiles to teach them the Biblical truths after the Jews had rejected Christ and had Him crucified. That’s right, even though the Romans were in power; they let the Jews have Jesus so they could do with Him, as they pleased. Peter saw the vision of the sheet being let down from Heaven shortly after Christ was resurrected from the dead in 33AD.

John 19:6 When the CHIEF PRIESTS (the religious leaders) therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him. (Was Pilate afraid of a lynch mob when he turned Christ over to them?)

Acts 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: (the Jews) but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.

Not only did Peter, Paul and Barnabus turn to the Gentiles but God did also causing the Gentiles to receive the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues.

Acts 15: 8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them (the Gentiles) witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

12 Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

13 And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me:

14 Sim’eon (Peter) hath declared how God at the first (that is for the first time) did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.

These scriptures show the end of the prophesy of 69 weeks, time which was halted so that God could deal directly with the Gentiles. This time of the Gentiles will soon be coming to an end. Upon completion we will see the returning of God, to the dealing directly with the Jews again as was prophesied.

Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, (This has been occurring from about 39 AD and will continue until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled, whenever that occurs. I am not sure we will recognize when it happens, but it is sure to happen shortly.)

The time of this prophesy that has passed prior to this time was 483 years. That is equal to 7 weeks + 60 weeks + 2 weeks = 69 weeks of years or 69 weeks of years x 7 days in the week = 483 years. That leaves 1 week or 7 years left to finish the 490 years of the prophesy. 490 – 483 of completed years leaves 7 years left to finish the prophesy. God will then again turn back to the Jews and finish this prophesy of the seventy weeks or the rest of the 490 years which is yet to come in the very near future.

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant (in the Bible, the promises that were made between God and the Israelites, who agreed to worship no other gods) with many for one week: ( God will prove to many of His elect, that they are a great nation; that they are blessed of all nations; and that they are blessed above all peoples) and in the midst of the week ( that is after 3 ½ years) another version of this is found in

Revelation 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. (1260 days equals 3 ½ years) after this

he shall cause (God shall cause, now this is different from when Antiochus Epiphanes caused the Abomination of Desolation in 167BC) the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, (there will be no need for the righteous people to pray and make offerings because they have been resurrected and caught up to be with Jesus in the wilderness for 3 ½ years)(God will cause the offerings and the prayers of the righteous, to cease here among the nations, because they shall be separated from the left of the nations for 3 ½ years as is spoken of in…

Revelation 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, (Hebrew word for wilderness: "mid’hbar", denoting not a barren desert but a district or region suitable for pasturing sheep and cattle, an uncultivated place.) where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. (Time (1 year), times (2 years), half a time (half a year) which equals 3 ½ years) and for the overspreading of abominations (the covering of the surface of the earth with immoral, disgusting, or shameful behavior) he shall make it desolate, (to make somebody or something, feel sad and lonely; it will be a sad and terrible time for the people left of the nations.) even until the consummation, (the perfect ending, the end of the Great time of Jacob’s Time of Trouble) and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate (the empty place; it will be a desolate or a sad place with no one of good character left ).

Albert Barnes was an American theologian in the 1800s, who wrote a Bible Commentary of 14 volumes. They are quite good but should be taken with a hand full of salt. Take no man’s words as Gospel unless backed up by Bible.

Barnes commentary says: The meaning here is, that the woman is represented as prepared for a rapid flight (swift passage, progress, or motion,); so prepared as to be able to outstrip (to achieve more or go faster than) her pursuer, and to reach a place of safety. Divested of the figure, the sense is that the church, when exposed to this form of persecution, would be protected as if miraculously supplied with wings.

A place appointed for her; that is, a place where she could be safe. A wilderness or desert is often represented as a place of safety from pursuers.

The meaning here is, that the church would be kept alive. It is not indeed mentioned by whom this would be done, but it is evidently implied that it would be by God. During this long period in which the church would be in obscurity, it would not be suffered to become extinct. For a period of time said to be a (time) year, and (times) two years, and (half a time) half a year; that is, forty-two months, or 1260 days, or 3 ½ years.

Luke 21:20¶ And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation (to make a place barren or deserted) thereof is nigh.

21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

22 For these be the days of vengeance (punishment that is inflicted in return for a wrong), that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. (This will be the beginning of the seventieth week)

25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. (Verses 25 and 26 will probably be something that will happen at the 1^st half of the 70^th week. Then in the midst of the week or 3 ½ years)

27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. (The second coming shall be 3 ½ years after the 70^th week starts, the problem is we probably will not realize when the 70^th week starts)

32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.(the generation of the 70^th week)

33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.(Heaven and Earth will be made new, so God’s words will never ever fail)

34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life,( be not over indulged with the excesses of this life) and so that day ( the second coming of Christ) come upon you unawares.

35 For as a snare ( or a trap ) shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. (Keep your selves alert, watch and pray and be prepared so that you may be counted worthy to enter the Thousand Year Kingdom and stand before King Jesus Christ)

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them (the Dead in Christ) in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (This is the same time that it is talking about in ;)

Revelation 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. (3 ½ years)

We now live in the time of the Gentiles; while the Jews still suffer persecution even from our own nation, because of their rejection of Christ. They have suffered from the time shortly after Christ was crucified, through the present time. God is persecuting or chastising the Gentiles also, all over the earth because we are not following His Laws and Statues, the same as the Jews are doing.

Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in.

Israel in majority does not accept Christ’s 1^st coming, death and resurrection, (they are still looking for Him to come in power and great Glory) and they will be blind in part but part of them have accepted Christ and it will stay this way until the fullness of the Gentiles be come. Here is what must come to pass to awaken them to the truth.

Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Daniel 12:1 ¶ And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book (the book of life)

Thy people shall be delivered. The Bride of Christ, those worthy of the first resurrection, shall be delivered from the last half of this week of a time of trouble, a trouble such as never was since there was a nation.

Zechariah 14: 1 ¶ Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil (property) shall be divided in the midst of thee.

2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, (to rob or plunder) and the women ravished (to rape or carry off); and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. (This shall be different from when Israel and Judah was exiled before Christ was born; only half of the city shall go forth into captivity, this time.) This is prophesied to take place in the very near future.

These scriptures cover from the start of the time of trouble, the beginning of the 7 years or the beginning of the 70th week, until the thousand year reign of Christ here on the earth. (Watch for other nations to attack Israel from all sides, but watch for the four angels who are bound in the river Euphrates to be loosed.)

Revelation 9:14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels (powers) which are bound in the great river Euphrates.

I believe these are 4 nations, which Hate Israel with a passion, they want to push Israel into the sea (they have already said as much). They have had a long and Ancient History with Israel; they will come down to Israel to do battle. They are Iraq (Babylon), Iran (Persia), Syria (Assyria), and Turkey (Ottoman Empire). All four of these have controlled and ruled over Israel from time to time during the ancient past and all touch the river Euphrates. These are the ones who will start this time of trouble against God’s people Israel. The river Euphrates is drying up at an alarming rate right now. The lack of water is causing these nations to start hunting water and squabbling with other nations including the United States. You might say that these four nations are bound to the river instead of in the river and the shortage of water will cause them to fight to get water. The whole Middle East has a huge water shortage ever where, except for Israel. Israel has more water than it needs and is making the desert to blossom. These countries that are running out of water will probably come down to Israel to take over their land, because of the water.

After Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Turkey have come down to battle Israel and “push them into the sea”. These four nations will begin the assault against Israel and then others will join in until Jesus Christ steps in to fight for His people.

Thousand Year Reign

Daniel 2: 42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.(the kingdoms of this world will not stick together)

43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.( this may be referring to the countries of the world taking in the refugees of foreign nations, they also are allowing people of deviant behaviors to flourish within their borders, to the point that the differing thoughts of each people, weakens the very foundations of these nations like clay and iron will not stick together.)

44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

In the days of the toe kingdoms (not necessarily ten but many kingdoms) of the vision of Nebuchadnezzar’s image, shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, a kingdom of only God’s righteous people ruling with Christ, the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but the bride of Christ shall conquer the whole earth and Christ and His Bride shall be the sole ruler of the whole earth.

Zechariah 14: 3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

(It seems that when Christ comes back to the earth, at the end of the 7 year period, He will literally stand upon the Mount of Olives and it will split in the middle, forming a valley running east to west, which the people shall flee to for protection. That is flee through the valley to escape from Jerusalem when the enemies of God shall capture half of the city. Christ shall bring the entire bride, the woman that was in the wilderness, with Him and begin teaching of the pure undefiled word of God and set up His World Wide 1000 year Rule at that time. He and the Bride will be teaching the living waters from God’s Word for 1000 years from Jerusalem.)

Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

15 ¶ To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.( This is not the judgement day but Christ and His anointed will be teaching God’s true Word which shall cause people’s heart to condemn them)

Enoch lived about 1000 years before the flood and 622 years after the creation. God revealed to him something that would happen about 6000 years later in vivid detail. The Coming of Jesus Christ with ten thousands of His saints to convince all the ones left alive of their ungodly ways and speeches, by teaching the true undefiled Word of God. It is amazing the work of God in the lives of man, allowing Enoch to see the end time from near the beginning of time.

Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (The Bible mentions both dead and living souls but here it is referring to living souls that have been resurrected (the bride of Christ) and are reigning with Christ for a thousand years)

(They worshiped the beast, they honored the pope as God here upon this earth The mark of the beast in their foreheads and hands is referring to the sign of the cross they make when they recite these words, “in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen”, while making the sign of the cross.

This is a pagan practice which indicates the trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, a belief that is not found in any form in the scriptures; Roman Catholics aren't the only “Christians” (they say), who make the Sign of the Cross. All Eastern Catholics and Eastern Orthodox do as well, along with many High-Church Anglicans and Lutherans (and a smattering of other Mainline Protestants). This is a lie! There is only one God and His Son Jesus Christ who has a body and is not Spirit as Jehovah God is. The Holy Spirit is a part of God, His Power or influence.

Revelation 20:5 But the rest of the dead (that is the ones that will have to go through the Great White Throne Judgement) lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. (Only the ones that will live and reign with Christ, is in the first resurrection, The Bride)

6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

The ones worthy of the first resurrection shall not have to endure the Judgement because they will not be subject to the second death. But they shall be priests of God and of Christ.

Joel 3:18 ¶ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, (not old or fermented wine) and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shit-tim’.( acacia wood)

Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (This is what those sitting upon thrones with Christ will be teaching)

Zechariah 14:8 ¶ And it shall be in that day, that living waters (the pure undefiled and true Word of God) shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea,(Dead Sea) and half of them toward the hinder sea:(Mediterranean Sea) in summer and in winter shall it be. (This is after the mount of Olives cleaves in half)

9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. (No trinity mentioned here)

But before the thousand year reign of Christ and His Bride here upon this earth:

Rev 20: 1 ¶ And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. (This is symbolic of having the power to bind in death)

2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, (symbolic of all the powers of evil and them being stopped from their evil deeds for 1000 years)

3 And cast him into the bottomless pit,(the grave) and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

(Barnes notes: And cast him into the bottomless pit. A state of peace and prosperity would exist as if Satan, the great disturber, were confined in the nether world (Hell, the place of the dead) as a prisoner.

And shut him up. Closed the massive doors of the dark prison-house upon him.

And set a seal upon him. The seal was placed upon the door or gate of the prison, not because this would fasten the gate or door of itself and make it secure, for this was secured by the key, but because it prevented intrusion, or any secret opening of it without its being known. The idea here is that every precaution was taken for absolute security.)

Satan shall be bound in the bottomless pit (so that he might not interfere) before Christ and His Bride rules the earth and teaches the true undefiled Word of God. The bottomless pit has been used to describe Hell or the grave, the only pit that it is never filled.

Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast (Satan), neither his image (Idols), neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands (the mark of the trinity); and they (the soul, the physical body alive) lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

This is the thousand year reign of Christ and His Bride ruling from thrones, here upon this earth. I believe that Christ’s throne will be located in Jerusalem. Christ will be the only ruler on the face of the whole earth along with the bride of Christ, those who met Him in the air; they will be judging, or teaching, the left alive of the whole earth. No one will be resurrected except the righteous of God, those still dead, that is the ones that fell short, will remain in the grave until the last resurrection.

Revelation 17:8 The beast (Satan) that thou sawest was (he existed in the past), and is not (but does not exist during the thousand year reign); and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit (shall exist and ascend out of the bottomless pit, which is Hell or the grave, resurrected and judged), and go into perdition (the lake of fire; eternal destruction from which no one will escape, forever) and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder (be in awe of, or bewildered by), whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

The beast that was, and is not and yet is. He (Satan) exists from the creation of all things until the Thousand Year Reign, but is not in existence during the thousand years, but yet he exists again after the thousand years for a little season, (how long? we do not know) but he is loosed for a little season (a small amount of time, unnamed and undefined, but small compared to the thousand years), he shall be released and loosed until he is cast into the lake of fire. Satan will not escape the lake of fire, which is the second death, and which will be Death everlasting and never ending, total destruction.

Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast (the Catholic system) and the false prophet (Muhammad) are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (The beast and false prophet of the book of Revelation are based solidly in Catholicism and Muhammadism; the false religions that try to destroy the believers of the One True God, Jehovah.)

Revelation 10: 5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,

6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, (Jehovah God Almighty) who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: (The angel lifted his hand to heaven and sware by God Almighty that there should be time no longer)

Satan with the beast and the false prophet will be cast into the lake of fire burning with fire and brimstone and they shall become ashes, this is the second death and the final death because Death (the grave, the bottomless pit) itself will be destroyed by the second death.

Malachi 4: 1 ¶ For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: (short stalks left in the ground after a grain crop has been harvested) and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. (total destruction)

2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness (Jesus Christ) arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. (In the kingdom of God)

3 And ye shall tread (walk or step on) down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts. (The wicked shall be destroyed here upon this earth and after that, the righteous will be living here upon this same earth, made new)

Revelation 20:11 ¶ And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away(No mortal can look upon Jehovah and live) ; and there was found no place for them

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; (All shall come before God and be judged if they are not of the Bride of Christ) and the books (the books of the Bible) were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, (the Bible) according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell (the ones who have died but did not serve or follow Christ and are in the grave) delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. (Everyone dead will be resurrected and judged)

14 And death and hell (the grave or the bottomless pit and death itself) were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. (The total destruction or total extinction of body and soul)

I will read Malachi 4:1-3 once again so you will remember it.

Malachi 4:1 ¶ For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.(burned to ashes upon which the righteous of God will walk here on this earth.)

Revelation 20:1 ¶ And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3 And cast him (Satan) into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Satan shall be cast into the bottomless pit, the pit that all the dead go to, for a thousand years. After the thousand years of total peace here upon this earth is finished, Satan will be loosed from his imprisonment in the bottomless pit (or death) for a little season. (We do not know how long that will be, but Satan will be loosed and go forth to deceive the ones that are left alive, that are not of the Bride of Christ.)

Revelation 20: 7 and when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

Gog and Magog are descendants of Noah’s son Japheth but today they have become great nations who live north and east of Israel, a huge number of barbarous people who mostly are followers of Mohammed.

Revelation 6: 9 ¶ And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: (This is the blood of the dead in Christ SYMBOLICALLY calling to Christ and God because the dead know not anything)

Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. (But in this case you might say, their blood is calling to Christ for help)

Revelation 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? (They are not on the earth but in the earth, they are underground in the grave.)

11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; (white robes is symbolical of God’s protection) and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. (These are the five foolish virgins who have repented during the Thousand Year reign but were killed for the Word of God)

(There has been a great persecution of the righteous ones of God all down through the ages, even from the time that Cain slew Abel,(that was because of their religious beliefs) and even though the Thousand Years Reign of Christ will rule the entire world in total peace, there still has not been a reckoning for all the a-tro’-cities against God’s special ones, such as the martyrs tortured and killed by the Catholic church during the dark ages and the Germans killing and torturing the Jews during the holocaust, white robes were given to them that accepted Christ, as a form of protection during the little season, in which the wrath of God will be unleashed on the left alive of the nations. This time will be the last and most violent of all the wars on this earth. This is a time when Gog and Magog, with Satan, shall go forth to conquer the earth and make one last stand to punish the earth and those that are not sealed and protected by Christ’s World Wide kingdom, represented by the white robes. (Anyone wearing a white robe is protected by God Himself) Satan leading the beast (all of the fake religious systems like the Catholic church and the false prophet Muhammad and all of their disciples) and all the false religions of the world shall make war upon the nation of Israel and try to even attack Jerusalem, the beloved city and even try to attack Christ and His Bride but they are all protected with the white robes.

Revelations 20: 7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, (Hell or the place of the dead)

8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. (This is still not the judgement)

Deceive the nations in the four quarters of the earth, that is, the whole earth. Gog and Magog are the descendants of Noah’s son Ja’- pheth and are located from the land of Turkey and north to the Black and Caspian Seas. These are a very barbarous people and are followers mainly of Islam, the most violent of all religions. They are prophesied to come down to Israel to invade and take a spoil. This will be during the little season when Satan is loosed to help them.

Islam is the second largest religion in the world, after Christianity, with about 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide and still growing. Although its roots go back further, scholars typically date the creation of Islam to the 7th century, making it the youngest of the major world religions. Islam started in Mecca, in modern-day Saudi Arabia, during the time of the prophet Muhammad’s life around 600 years after Christ. Today, the faith is spreading rapidly throughout the world. Isis, a branch of Muslim, is the most violent religion in the world but it is a branch of Islam. There are 2.45 million Muslims in the United States.(and you wonder why this nation is turning away from God)

Ezekiel 38: 14 ¶ Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?

15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:

16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

17 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?

The Great White Throne Judgement

After that Satan has been loosed for the little season and he has tried to destroy the world where Christ and His Bride have taught the pure and undefiled Word of God.

Revelation 20:11 ¶ And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.(No mortal can look upon Jehovah God and live)

12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; (All shall come before God and be judged if they are not of the Bride of Christ) and the books (that is the books of the Bible) were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead (that is the raised dead, or everyone that are not among the Bride of Christ) were judged out of those things which were written in the books,(of the Bible) according to their works.

13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell (the grave) delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. (Everyone dead will be resurrected and judged)

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (you might say that all men must die once and then they are resurrected and judged)

John 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, (the worldwide Catholic system) and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, (Muhammad and the Pope) with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast,(the trinity) and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Tormented, past tense, once done it will not be undone for ever and ever) Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: (choose Life or Death, not Torture)

6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, (Jehovah God Almighty) who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

1 Corinthians 15: 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death (death will be the last enemy to be destroyed, after death is destroyed, Jesus Christ will turn over everything to Jehovah God Almighty.)

John 14: 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (Def. Mansions: dwelling places)

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Revelations 21:1 ¶ And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. (Why did it say that there was no more sea? The earth will be made new and the sea will be dried up to make ample room for all of His saints)

Psalms 78:69 And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever.

Psalms 104:5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever

Ecclesiastes 1:4 One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.

Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. (This is a whole city whose proportions are about 1380 miles high, 1380 miles wide, and 1380 miles long, a cube. (Re 21:16-21,)

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

The tabernacle of God (His dwelling place) will be here on this earth that is established forever with men and He shall dwell with men here on this earth forever.

Revelations 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.(make them new, remodel, not make all new things) And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
